What Is Uranus?
Uranus is an ice giant. It is much smaller than Jupiter or Saturn and has a different internal structure. Beneath a hydrogen-helium atmosphere lies a hot, dense mantle made primarily of water, ammonia, and methane. Missions to Uranus
Voyager 2 is the only spacecraft to have visited Uranus, flying past in January 1986.
